A Hearty Welcome from Ukraine!

ven to “snobs” like us, the English, the welcome from Ukraine was hearty to say the very least.  As opposed to the all-known stereotype of the eastern part of Eurasia, Ukraine has shown herself from the best side – doing all that is possible in making her guests comfortable. With the Euro 2012 soon to come, Poland and Ukraine gave all their resources into the “reformation” of the capitals, showing all the best of each city.

A major part in the preparations was played by internationalizing the communication in the country: signs were removed to be replaced by multi-language ones, staff in public places was taught English and other foreign languages to communicate with the variety of participants and so on. Culture programs were also established to show the finest points of the nation and society.

With such a welcome coming our way, we are forced to appreciate the country and in the new Olympics we wish to show our new visitors how we value their welcome. In the title we show how we can say: Hello, welcome to London! – pronounced: “Zdrastvuyte, dobro pozhalovat v London!”

The organizers of the Olympics hope that each and every one can greet our guests with a flourish!
